I don’t trust any kind of cleaner that I can’t smell. Take the new Clorox Anywhere spray cleaner mumbojumbo. It’s like water. Water. It has no smell. No color. It’s like spraying water everywhere, and cleaning it off. How do you know for sure that it’s actually clean if you can’t smell the cleanliness?
I like the smell of cleaners. Wood polish, yes please! Windex, over here! Bleach, hells yes. Give me some bleach, and I’m a happy camper. I mop with bleach water. Always. Twice a week. No fail.
A few weeks ago, the daughter came home from being away at her dad’s for a week, and I had just finished mopping the kitchen and bathrooms.
Her: *sniffs around* What’s that smell, Ma?
Me: I just mopped.
Her: Yeah, but what’s the smell? *sniffs more*
Me: It’s bleach.
Her: *big sniffff* Mmm, Mama, it smells soooo goood!
Me: Yes, that’s called cleanliness.
Her: My dad’s house doesn’t smell like cleanliness.
Me: *my heart bursted wide open, smiling from within* No, huh?
Her: No, that’s why I like living here.
Me: Good answer.

i could happily adopt the child….you think she’d like australia??
i LOVE the smell of bleach…love it! and phenyl…i love that too…
nostrils flare, grin happens…all those things we do when we’re feeling self satisfied and smug, which is what happens when i smell either of these cos it’s generally because i’ve been spraying, wiping and mopping…
*looking satisfied*

You can really get a good clean on by just smelling the cleaning products! Once I take a good ‘ol whiff out of that Clorox cleanup bottle, I’m good to go. Haven’t tried the Anywhere product, but on your recommendation, I’m passing on it. Thanks for the tip! My kid always said “What’s that smell” cause he didn’t like the smell of the cleaning products – of course his room was a sty, which is why the door remained closed all the time! I couldn’t bear it… He’s moving back in in November. God help me.

Every time I use bleach, I end up ruining an article of clothing. It’s pathetic. I love Mr. Clean and I love to experiment with new scents. Bleach burns my nose and gives me a headache, and no, I don’t sniff the bottle! How nice that your daughter recognizes how nice it is to have someone make their home so clean – she sounds like a doll. Oh, got your postcard (card) and I was so excited. Thank you Red. Mine will be in the mail hopefully this morn when I get off work, if I’m not too tuckered to go to the post office, if not – this weekend or Monday for sure. LOVED IT and it made my night!
I havent ruined tooo much clothes, thank goodness! Considering I dont have much to begin with!
MrClean is lovely too! hahah, lovely. Geez. Im turning into my mother.
Yes! I had to do cards because I could NOT find postcards anywhere around here! Glad you liked!
